The Pure Words of the LORD - Psalms 12:6

In Psalms chapter twelve David wrote, The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things. Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us? For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, says the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffs at him, and in chapter twelve and verse six of Psalms David said, “the words of the LORD are pure words” where we read,

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

The verse begins, The words of the LORD are pure words:” David began with the words, “the words of the LORD” which means “the utterances, commandments and speeches belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “are pure words” or “exist as sacred and morally and ethically clean utterances, speeches and commandments”. David declared the utterances and commandments belonging to Jehovah God exist as sacred and clean speeches.

The verse goes on to say,as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.” David continued with the words, “as silver tried in a furnace of earth” or “like unto precious silver metal that has been smelted, refined and tested within a crucible belonging to the land, country, territory, district and region”, “purified seven times” which means “refined, strained and purged sevenfold or seven times over again”. David wrote how Jehovah God's words were so “refined” that they were like “silver metal” that had been smelted and purged from impurities “seven times” over.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David highly regarded and respected the “words” of Almighty God. Jehovah God's commandments and speeches were sacred, pure and righteous, and David likened them to “silver metal” that was “refined” over and over again for “seven times”. In other words, no one is able to refute or prohibit the effect God's words have upon people. God loves people, and His desire is to have a personal relationship with them through His Son Jesus. When they submit to Him, He will forgive their sins, grant them everlasting life and pour His words into them to cleanse them from all unrighteousness. Jehovah God's words are pure, powerful and strong, and we can give Him praise, honor and glory for His wonderful truths that bring about our salvation and rescue.

Next time David says, You shall keep them, O LORD, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
