Men Which are Your Hand - Psalms 17:14

In Psalms chapter seventeen David prayed to Jehovah God about the wicked, Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is your sword”, and in chapter seventeen and verse fourteen of Psalms David asked Jehovah God to deliver him from, men which are your hand, O LORD, from men of the world where we read,

From men which are your hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly you fill with your hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

The verse begins, From men which are your hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly you fill with your hid treasure: David began with the words, “From men” which means “apart and separate from people whether male or female” “which are your hand” or “who exist as your, Jehovah God's, right hand of power and authority”, “O LORD” which means “O Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”, “from men of the world” or “apart from the person whether male or female who belonged to the earth, age and short time”, “which have their portion” which means “who hold, own and possess their, the wicked person's, share, part and territory” “in this life” or “within the current active living”, “and whose belly” which means “and within the wicked person's abdomen, seat of hunger and mental faculties” “you fill with your hid treasure” or “you, Jehovah God, consecrate, arm, satisfy and accomplish your, Jehovah God's, hidden wealth, gems and possessions”. David desired Jehovah God to deliver him from people who were used as God's instruments, but were part of the earth and the possessions within it.

The verse continues, they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes. David added the words, “they are full of children” or “the wicked people are satisfied, surfeited and enriched with offspring and progeny”, “and leave the rest of their substance” which means “and settle, repose, deposit and allow to remain the excess, remnant, abundant and superior part the wicked person's possessions” “to their babes” or “to the wicked person's sucklings or infants”. David referred to wicked people who are enriched with offspring and repose and settle their abundance toward their infant offspring.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David knew the “wicked” seemed to prosper in this life. They have Jehovah God's possessions, and they deem them as their own. They have plenty of offspring, and they intend to allow their holdings to be given to their children when they leave this world. God, however, owns everything, and no one has anything that has not been given by Him. God gave His only begotten Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of the world, and anyone who yields to Him as their personal “Savior and Lord” will be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life. God give gifts unto men (Ephesians 4:8 and James 1:17), and He allows them to keep them while they live on the earth. His desire is to give them “salvation” that lasts forever and ever, and we will praise Him for all eternity for His loving benefits toward us.

Next time David says, I will behold your face in righteousness, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
