Judging the Fatherless and the Oppressed - Psalms 10:18

In Psalms chapter ten David said, “The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land. LORD, you have heard the desire of the humble: you will prepare their heart, you will cause your ear to hear”, and in Psalms chapter ten and verse eighteen David said, “To judge the fatherless and the oppressed where we read,

To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

The verse begins, To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, ...” David began with the words, “To judge the fatherless” which means “to govern over, vindicate and rule over the orphans and bereaved” “and the oppressed” or “and the crushed, injured and afflicted”. David said Jehovah God would rule and govern over orphans and afflicted people.

The verse continues,... that the man of the earth may no more oppress.David added the words, “that the man of the earth” or “so the person whether male or female belonging to the country, territory, district and region” “may no more oppress” which means “will no longer make people tremble, dread, fear and be afraid”. David said Jehovah God would govern over orphans and the bereaved so wicked people on “earth” would no longer cause them to tremble and fear.

When we meditate upon words in this verse, we learn through David how Jehovah God will intervene and govern over orphans and the bereaved so wicked people in the earth will not longer make them be afraid. God cares about people, and He knows the conditions of the afflicted and unfortunate. God wants a personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and when we submit to Him as our personal “Lord and Savior”, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life. Praise be unto God who demonstrates His love toward mankind, watches over orphans and the bereaved and insures that they will not be afflicted by the wicked for all eternity.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, In the LORD put I my trust, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
