The Four Spirits of the Heavens - Zechariah 6:5

In the book of Zechariah, Zechariah said, “I turned, and lifted up my eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass. In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses. And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses. Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?”, and in chapter six and verse five of Zechariah, Zechariah shared how the angel answered, “these are the four spirits of the heavens”where we read,

And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, 

which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.

The verse reads, “And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, ...” Zechariahbegan with the words, “and the angel” or “and the spiritual envoy or messenger” “answered and said unto me” which means “began to speak, responded, uttered, declared and proclaimed to me, Zechariah”, “these are the four spirits” or “these four carriages drawn by different colored horses exist as the four spiritual entities” “of the heavens” which means “belonging to the region and abode of God”. Zechariah shared how the “angel” told him the “four chariots drawn by horses” were the “four” spiritual entities who reside in the dwelling place of God.

The verse continues, “... which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.” Zechariah added the words, “which go forth” or “that proceed, depart and exit” “from standing before the Lord” which means “separate and apart from being stationed, present and remaining in front of the strong master and superintendent” “of all the earth” or “belonging to each, every and the whole country, territory, region, district and world”. Zechariah shared how the “chariots and horses” departed from the presence of Jehovah God who is the strong master of the whole world. 

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Zechariah that the four carriages drawn by different colored horses were actually “four spirits” which departed from the presence of God. God was dispatching His spiritual entities to carry out His work upon the earth. God loves the people of Israel, and He loves us as well. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, when we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and help us to understand that He is at work in His spiritual world even when we are unaware of it.
