In Psalms chapter sixty David said, “O God, you have cast us off, you have scattered us, you have been displeased; O turn yourself to us again”, and in chapter sixty and verse two of Psalms David said, “you have made the earth to tremble” where we read,
You have made the earth to tremble; you have broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shakes.
The verse begins, “You have made the earth to tremble; you have broken it:” David began with the words, “you have made the earth” or “you, Divine judge Jehovah God, have caused the country, territory, district, region and world” “to tremble” which means “to quake, shake and quiver”; “you have broken it” or “you, Divine judge Jehovah God, have split, broke open and cracked the earth”. David said Jehovah God caused the world to shake and quake, and He actually cracked it open.
The verse continues, “heal the breaches thereof; for it shakes.” David added the words, “heal the breaches thereof” or “cure, make healthy and whole the fracture, ruin, shattering and crashing”; “for it shakes” which means “because, since and on account that the earth totters, is dislodged and greatly fallen in decay”. David appealed to Jehovah God to cure the fractures and ruins within the “earth” because it was tottering and falling in decay.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David knew Jehovah God caused the world to totter and shake. David wanted God to cure the ruin within it because it was fallen into decay. We may feel this way about our world today because people have strayed so far away from a personal relationship with God, however, He loved us first and demonstrated it by sending His Son Jesus into the world to die for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life with Him. The world indeed totters and shakes, and only Jehovah God is able to cure the “breaches” thereof.
Next time David says, “You have showed your people hard things”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
