In Psalms chapter sixty David said, “You have showed your people hard things: you have made us to drink the wine of astonishment. You have given a banner to them that fear you, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah”, and in chapter sixty and verse five of Psalms David said, “that your beloved may be delivered” where we read,
That your beloved may be delivered; save with your right hand, and hear me.
The verse begins, “That your beloved may be delivered;” David began with the words, “that your beloved” or “so your, Divine judge Jehovah God's, lovely, amiable and well loved ones” “may be delivered” which means “might be removed, withdrawn, equipped, rescued and armed for war”. David said the reason Jehovah God gave His “banner” to the people who reverence Him was so His well loved ones may be rescued and saved.
The verse goes on to say, “save with your right hand, and hear me.” David continued with the words, “save with your right hand” or “rescue, deliver and liberate by the use of your, Jehovah God's, right hand of power, strength and authority”, “and hear me” which means “and answer, respond and reply to me, David”. David appealed to Jehovah God to deliver him and his countrymen with His “right hand” and to respond to his words and plea.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David recognized that Jehovah God bestowed a “banner” over the people He loved not only to show His truthfulness, but also to liberate His people with the power of His “right hand” of authority. David wanted Jehovah God to respond to him and give him an answer because of his enemies, and because we are reading David's words, we know that He did. God loves us, and He is for us. When controversies and difficulties arise, we may rely upon Jehovah God because He desires to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus. When we submit to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and liberate us by His power and authority from all “enemies” both physical and spiritual.
Next time David says, “God has spoken in his holiness”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
