Returning at Evening - Psalms 59:6

In Psalms chapter fifty nine David said, “You therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah”, and in chapter fifty-nine and verse six of Psalms David said, “They return at evening” where we read,

They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.

The verse begins, They return at evening: David began with the words, “They return” or “they, the wicked transgressors, come back, reverse and are brought back” “at evening” which means “at sunset or nighttime”. David said the “wicked transgressors” came out during the nighttime hours.

The verse goes on to say, they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city. David continued with the words, “they make a noise” or “they, the wicked transgressors, murmur, growl, cry aloud, rage and are clamorous” “like a dog” which means “similar and in likeness to a canine with contempt or abasement”, “and go round about the city” or “and encompass, surround and encircle the town or place of waking and watching”. David said the “wicked transgressors” are tumultuous and growl with contempt like wild canines as they surround the town where people live.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see through David how these “wicked transgressors” perform their evil deeds in the nighttime. Many are like this today because the darkness tends to cover their evil deeds, and this gives them the freedom be clamorous like a pack of wild dogs as they perform their activities around the town. Jehovah God, however, is not blind to their practices, and He sees everything. He knows when people sin, and He knows the purposes and intents of their hearts. Because mankind is sinful, they are separated from a personal relationship with God, and this is why He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. Three days later Jesus was raised from the dead, and now every person who humbles themselves, repents of their sins and surrenders their life to Him will be forgiven of their sins and granted eternal life with God. (See John 3:16) Although wicked people will perform their evil deeds while they live on the earth, they, as well as we, shall give an account before Almighty God who sees us all.

Next time David says, “They belch out with their mouth”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
