In Psalms chapter sixty David said, “Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man”, and in chapter sixty and verse twelve of Psalms David said, “through God we shall do valiantly” where we read,
Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.
The verse begins, “Through God we shall do valiantly:” David began with the words, “through God” or “by means of the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “we shall do valiantly” which means “we, David and his countrymen, will fashion, accomplish and perform with strength, efficiency, wealth and ability”. David said by the means of the Divine judge Jehovah God he and his countrymen would accomplish and perform with power and ability.
The verse continues, “for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.” David added the words, “for he it is” or “because, since and on account that he, Jehovah God, exists as the one” “that shall tread down” which means “who will trample, desecrate and pollute” “our enemies” or “our, David and his countrymen's, hating foes and adversaries”. David said the Divine judge Jehovah God would trample and desecrate he and his compatriots' hating foes and adversaries.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David knew Jehovah God was the reason he and his countrymen would defeat their enemies. Their power was in their relationship with God, and the same is true today. Jehovah God desires to relate to us through His Son Jesus, and when we submit to Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and accompany us with His Holy Spirit through any battle or distress we encounter. Let us give praise, honor and glory to Jehovah God and His Son Jesus for provision in this world and in the world to come because our enemy was trampled and desecrated.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, “hear my prayer, O God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
