In Psalms chapter sixty David asked, “Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?”, and in chapter sixty and verse ten of Psalms David asked, “Will not you, O God, which had cast us off?” where we read,
Will not you, O God, which had cast us off?
and you, O God, which did not go out with our armies?
The verse begins, “Will not you, O God, which had cast us off?” David began with the words, “Will not you” or “shall not you, Jehovah God”, “O God” which means “O Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “which had cast us off” or “who forcefully rejected and spurned us, David and his countrymen, as an odious stink or stench”? David asked whether Jehovah God, whom he thought rejected and spurned them, would lead and guide he and his compatriots into the “strong city and Edom”.
The verse continues, “and you, O God, which did not go out with our armies?” David added the words, “and you” or “and you, Jehovah God”, “O God” which means “O Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “which did not go out” or “who in no way nor manner went forth, departed and proceeded” “with our armies” which means “alongside our, David and his compatriots', hosts and organized troops for battle and war”? David continued his questions as whether the Divine judge Jehovah God would go forth in the battle with the troops of he and his compatriots.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David questioned the willingness of Jehovah God to help him and his fellow troops because he continued to believe God had rejected and spurned them. David knew the importance of having Jehovah God to be with him in the battles, and without Him, David and his troops would fail. God loves us, and He desires to have a relationship with us. Our sins separate us from Him, but God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross to pay the penalty of death for those sins. When we submit to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us His Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth and fight for us. God loves us, and when we wonder whether He is with us or not, we may be assured by the death and resurrection of Jesus that He certainly is.
Next time David says, “Give us help from trouble”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
