Regarding the Life of Your Beast - Proverbs 12:10

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, He that is despised, and has a servant, is better than he that honors himself, and lacks bread”, and in chapter twelve and verse ten of Proverbs Solomon said, “a righteous man regards the life of his beast” where we read,

A righteous man regards the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

The verse begins, A righteous man regards the life of his beast: Solomon began with the words, “a righteous man” or “a person whether male or female who is just, right, correct and lawful” “regards the life” which means “perceives, discerns, discriminates and distinguishes the active and lively living, appetites, emotions and passions” “of his beast” or “belonging to his, the person whether male or female's, cattle, animals or livestock”. Solomon shared how the lawful and correct person discerns and perceives the livelihood of their animals.

The verse goes on to say, “but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.” Solomon continued with the words, “but the tender mercies” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover the bowels, pity and compassion” “of the wicked” which means “belonging to people who are criminal, guilty of crimes, evil and hostile to God” “are cruel” or “exist as terrible, savage and barbarous”. Solomon said even the compassion and pity belonging to people who are evil and hostile to God exists as savage and barbarous.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how people who are lawful and correct consider the living of their animals, however, the compassion and pity of people who are evil and hostile to God is savage. In other words, lawful people take care of their animals, and evil people neglect and abuse them. God is the creator of all people and animals, and He loves them all. He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to be kind and merciful to our animals and not to be barbarous to them like the “wicked”.

Next time Solomon says, “he that tills his land shall be satisfied with bread”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
