A Clamorous Foolish Woman - Proverbs 9:13

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “If you are wise, you shall be wise for yourself: but if you scorn, you alone shall bear it, and in chapter nine and verse thirteen of Proverbs Solomon said, “a foolish woman is clamorous” where we read,

A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knows nothing.

The verse begins, “A foolish woman is clamorous: Solomon began with the words, “a foolish woman” or “a stupid, folly filled and silly female human being” is clamorous which means “exists as murmuring, growling, roaring, raging and tumultuous”. Solomon shared how a female human being who is stupid and filled with folly exists as murmuring, raging and tumultuous.

The verse goes on to sayshe is simple, and knows nothing.” Solomon continued with the words, “she is simple” or “she, the foolish woman, exists as naive”, “and knows nothing” which means “and perceives, discerns, recognizes and distinguishes not one thing”. Solomon said the “foolish woman” is naive and does not perceive or discern anything.

When we meditate upon Solomon's words in this verse, we learn how a “woman” who is silly and filled with folly exists as growling and tumultuous, naive and undiscerning. God's wisdom is available to everyone, and “foolishness” and lack of discernment may be put away when a person receive His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we surrender to Jesus as our “Savior and Lord”, God will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us His “wisdom” through His Holy Spirit to separate ourselves from those who are “foolish” and “silly” in this world.

Next time Solomon shares how the foolish woman, “sits in the door of her house”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
