The Way of a Fool - Proverbs 12:15

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompense of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him”, and in chapter twelve and verse fifteen of Proverbs Solomon said, “the way of a fool is right in his own eyes” where we read,

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkens unto counsel is wise.

The verse begins, The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: Solomon began with the words, “the way of a fool” or “the road, distance, journey, manner and path belonging to a person who is mocking, quarrelsome and licentious” “is right” which means “exists as upright, straight, correct, fitting and proper” “in his own eyes” or “within his, the foolish person's, own personal eyes used for physical sight or perceptive vision”. Solomon shared how the manner and path of people who are quarrelsome and licentious exists as correct and fitting within their own way of seeing things.

The verse continues, “but he that hearkens unto counsel is wise.” Solomon added the words, “but he that hearkens unto counsel” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover the person whether male or female who listens, gives heed to, perceives and obeys advice, purpose and prudence” “is wise” which means “exists as skillful, shrewd and prudent”. Solomon said the person who gives heed to and obeys advice exists as a skillful and prudent person.

When we think through the words in this verse, we discover through Solomon how a person who acts in a mocking and quarrelsome way believes they are correct in their manner of living, however, the person who listens to good advice and counsel becomes skillful and prudent in their acts and deeds. God wants to give us His wisdom, (See James 1:5) and He will provide it to every person who comes to Him through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for all the errors, wrongs and evil deeds in the world. When we surrender our lives to Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us by His Holy Spirit how to be “right and wise” according to His ways and advice in the world.

Next time Solomon says, “a fool's wrath is presently known”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
