In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish”, and in chapter ten and verse twenty-nine of Proverbs Solomon said, “the way of the LORD is strength to the upright” where we read,
The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
The verse begins, “The way of the LORD is strength to the upright:” Solomon began with the words, “the way of the LORD” or “the road, journey, manner and path belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “is strength” which means “exists as power, might, safety, fastness, harbor, stronghold and refuge” “to the upright” or “toward people with integrity, completeness, fullness, innocence, simplicity and prosperity”. Solomon shared how Jehovah God's path and journey exists as power, might and safety to people who have integrity and innocence.
The verse continues, “but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.” Solomon added the words, “but destruction” or “however, notwithstanding, nevertheless and moreover terror, ruin, breaking and dismay” “shall be to the workers” which means “will exist toward the makers, performers, ordainers and committers” “of iniquity” or “pertaining to trouble, wickedness, sorrow and idolatry”. Solomon said terror and ruin will be the fate of people who make and produce wickedness and trouble.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how there is a difference between people who have integrity and innocence and people who commit wicked and idolatrous acts. God wants us to live in a right and just manner according to His way, and He provided His Son Jesus to the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind so we will be given the ability to do so. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to be “upright” so that we will be strong in our relationship with Him.
Next time Solomon said, “the righteous shall never be removed”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
