The Froward Heart Abomination - Proverbs 11:20

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “As righteousness tends to life: so he that pursues evil pursues it to his own death”, and in chapter eleven and verse twenty of Proverbs Solomon said, “they that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD” where we read,

They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD:

but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

The verse begins, They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD: Solomon began with the words, “they that are of a froward heart” or “the people whether male or female who exist with a twisted, distorted, crooked and perverted soul, mind, will, desire, conscience and seat of emotions and affections” are an abomination which means “exist as disgusting, wicked, unclean and abominable” “to the LORD” or “to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name of the One True God”. Solomon shared how people who possess perverted and twisted souls and minds are disgusting and abominable to Jehovah God.

The verse goes on to say, “but such as are upright in their way are his delight.” Solomon continued with the words, “but such as are upright” or “however, notwithstanding, nonetheless and moreover the people who exist as complete, whole, entire, sound and healthful” “in their way” which means “within their path, journey, distance and manner” “are his delight” or “exists as Jehovah God's pleasure, favor, goodwill, acceptance and desire”. Solomon said people who are complete, whole and sound in their manner exist as Jehovah God's desire and pleasure.

When we meditate upon Solomon's words in this verse, we discover who the people who are that are pleasing to Jehovah God and those who are not. Fraudulent and perverse souls are disgusting to God, and sound and healthful souls are His pleasure. God loves people, and His desire is that everyone follow after His righteous ways. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and help us by His Holy Spirit to live in a manner that is right, just and pleasurable to Him.

Next time Solomon says, “the wicked shall not be unpunished”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
