In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “the wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall”, and in chapter ten and verse nine of Proverbs Solomon said, “he that walks uprightly walks surely” where we read,
He that walks uprightly walks surely: but he that perverts his ways shall be known.
The verse begins, “He that walks uprightly walks surely:” Solomon began with the words, “he that walks uprightly” or “the person whether male or female who ambles about,” “walks surely” which means “makes their way, departs and proceeds with integrity, completeness, innocence and simplicity in a safe, secure and confident manner”. Solomon shared how the person who conducts their lives with integrity and simplicity proceeds within a safe and secure way.
The verse goes on to say, “but he that perverts his ways shall be known.” Solomon continued with the words, “but he that perverts his way” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover he, the person whether male or female, who twists, distorts and makes crooked his, the person's, road, journey, manner and direction” “shall be known” which means “will exist as perceived, discriminated, distinguished, found out and discerned”. Solomon said the person who distorts and twists their manner of living will be distinguished, found out and discovered.
When we consider Solomon words in this verse, we discover the contrast between a person who conducts their life in an innocent and simplistic manner and a person who twists and distorts their way of living. People who act with integrity live in a safe and secure manner, and those who are crooked shall be exposed and found out. God wants us to live “uprightly”, and He wants us to avoid a “perverted” lifestyle. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for our sins and was raised three days later so that we may be forgiven of our sins, granted everlasting life and shown how to live in a righteous manner that results in safety and security for our lives.
Next time Solomon says, “he that winks with the eye causes sorrow”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
