In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers from death”, and in chapter eleven and verse five of Proverbs Solomon said, “the righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way” where we read,
The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
The verse begins, “The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way:” Solomon began with the words, “the righteousness” or “the rightness, justness, correctness and lawfulness” “of the perfect” which means “belonging to people who are complete, whole, entire and sound” “shall direct his way” or “will make right, straight, level and just his, the perfect person's, path, journey, manner, direction and habit”. Solomon shared how the correctness and justice of people who are whole and entire will be guided by their lawfulness along their journey in life.
The verse continues, “but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.” Solomon added the words, “but the wicked” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover people who are criminal, guilty of crime, evil and hostile to God” “shall fall” which means “will be cast down and caused to prostrate, waste away and drop” “by his own wickedness” or “through the means of his, the wicked person's, own personal evil, fault and wrong”. Solomon said people who are criminal and evil will be cast down by the means of their own personal fault and wrong.
When we meditate upon Solomon words in this verse, we discover how people who act in a just and right manner will be guided according to their correct behavior, and people who commit crimes and act in evil ways will be cast down through the means of their own perniciousness. God wants to make us righteous through His Son Jesus who came into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and help us to act in a correct and right manner and to avoid evil and “wicked” behavior that will cause us to “fall”.
Next time Solomon says, “the righteousness of the upright shall deliver them”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
