Considering the House of the Wicked - Proverbs 21:12

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “when the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receives knowledge”, and in chapter twenty-one and verse twelve of Proverbs Solomon said, “the righteous man wisely considers the house of the wicked” where we read,

The righteous man wisely considers the house of the wicked:

but God overthrows the wicked for their wickedness.

The verse begins, The righteous man wisely considers the house of the wicked: Solomon began with the words, “the righteous man” or “the just, lawful and correct person whether male or female” “wisely considers” which means “with skill, shrewdness and prudence looks at, has insight and comprehends circumspectly” “the house of the wicked” or “the dwelling place, abode and habitation belonging to people who are criminal, guilty of crimes, evil and hostile to God”.Solomon said the person who is just, lawful and correct circumspectly looks at and has insight to the dwelling place of people who are evil and hostile to God.

The verse continues, “but God overthrows the wicked for their wickedness.” Solomon added the words, “but God overthrows” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover the Divine One twists, perverts, overturns and ruins” “the wicked” which means “people who are criminal, guilty of crimes, evil and hostile to God” “for their wickedness” or “on behalf of their, the wicked person's, bad, disagreeable, malignancy, unpleasantness and evil”. Solomon said Jehovah God overturns and ruins the person who is evil and hostile to God on behalf of their malignancy and unpleasantness.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how the person who is just and right before Jehovah God uses skill and shrewdness to circumspectly observe the dwelling place belonging to people who are evil and hostile to God, and God Himself will ruin the person who lives in an unrighteous and malignant manner. God desires that no one be “wicked and evil”, however, many are. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to be circumspect toward people who are “wicked” and understand that He shall contend with them for their evil ways.

Next time Solomon shares about, “whoso stops his ears at the cry of the poor”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
