In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “a good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold”, and in chapter twenty-two and verse two of Proverbs Solomon said, “the rich and the poor meet together” where we read,
The rich and the poor meet together:
the LORD is the maker of them all.
The verse begins, “The rich and the poor meet together:” Solomon began with the words, “the rich” or “the people who are wealthy and noble” “and the poor” which means “and the people who are impoverished, in want, need and destitute” “meet together” or “join, encounter and concur with one another”. Solomon shared how people who are wealthy and people who are impoverished encounter one another.
The verse goes on to say, “the LORD is the maker of them all.” Solomon continued with the words, “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “is the maker” which means “exists as the fashioner, producer and preparer” “of them all” or “pertaining to each every, the whole and everyone of the rich and poor people”. Solomon said Jehovah God fashions and produces every person whether they are wealthy or in need.
When we think through Solomon's words in this verse, we discover how everyone, regardless of their net worth in the world, join together before God. He made all of us, and His offer of salvation is to everyone through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we surrender our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and show us our true value before Him as children of the Most High God.
Next time Solomon says, “a prudent man foresees the evil, and hides himself”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
