In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “A gift in secret pacifies anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath”, and in chapter twenty-one and verse fifteen of Proverbs Solomon said, “it is joy to the just to do judgment” where we read,
It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
The verse begins, “It is joy to the just to do judgment:” Solomon began with the words, “it is joy to the just” or “it exists as mirth, gladness, gaiety and pleasure to the people who are righteous, lawful and correct” “to do judgment” which means “to fashion, accomplish, make and produce justice, ordinance, process, procedure and litigation”. Solomon said it is a pleasure for people who are lawful and correct to produce justice and litigation.
The verse goes on to say, “but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.” Solomon continued with the words, “but destruction” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover ruin, terror, dismay, dissolution and consternation” “shall be to the workers” which means “will exist toward the people who committers and producers” “of iniquity” or “pertaining to trouble, wickedness, sorrow and idolatry”. Solomon said ruin and consternation will be toward people who commit and produce wickedness and idolatry.
When we meditate upon Solomon's words in this verse, we learn how people who perform righteousness and justice do so with gladness, however, ruin and dismay comes to people who commit wickedness. God wants us to follow His ways of righteousness, and He desires that we avoid “iniquity”. This is for our benefit because our lives will be blessed by Him when we do. He loves us, and He proved His love by sending His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us His Holy Spirit to help us be “just” and “do judgment” according to His Divine will and purpose for our lives.
Next time Solomon shares about, “the man that wanders out of the way of understanding”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
