The Robbery of the Wicked - Proverbs 21:7

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “the getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death”, and in chapter twenty-one and verse seven of Proverbs Solomon said, “the robbery of the wicked shall destroy them” where we read,

The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them;

because they refuse to do judgment.

The verse begins, The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; Solomon began with the words, “the robbery” or “the havoc, violence, destruction, devastation and ruin” “of the wicked” which means “pertaining to people who are criminal, guilty of crimes, evil and hostile to God” “shall destroy them” or “will drag away, bring up and chew the cud of the wicked”. Solomon as said the violence and destruction belonging to people who are evil and hostile to God will chew the cud of people who are evil and hostile to God.

The verse goes on to say, “because they refuse to do judgment.” Solomon continued with the words, “because they refuse” or “since and on account that they, the wicked people, utterly reject” “to do judgment” which means “fashioning, accomplishing or producing ordinance, process, procedure and litigation”. Solomon said the reason the violence and devastation of people who are evil and hostile to God will devastate and ruin them is on account that they utterly reject performing procedure and litigation.

When we think through the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how the violence of people who are evil causes them to be swept away and ruined, and the reason is because they will not receive that which is just, right and correct. Jesus said, “for God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (See John 3:16-18) God's offer is to forgive the sins, grant everlasting life and cleanse from all errors and wrongs of every person who trusts in, relies upon and clings to His Son Jesus, however, many people reject and “refuse” to receive Him. Let all who read these words carefully consider their decision and yield themselves unto Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord” rather than be like the “wicked” who shall be “destroyed”.

Next time Solomon says, “the way of a man is froward and strange”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
