In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “A wise king scatters the wicked, and brings the wheel over them”, and in chapter twenty and verse twenty-seven of Proverbs Solomon said, “the spirit of a man is the candle of the LORD” where we read,
The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD,
searching all the inward parts of the belly.
The verse begins, “The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, ...” Solomon began with the words, “the spirit of man” or “the inspiration, intellect and soul belonging to a person whether male or female” “ is the candle” which means “exists as the glistening, lamp or light” “of the LORD” or “belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. Solomon shared how the intellect and soul of a person exists as the lamp of Jehovah God.
The verse goes on to say, “... searching all the inward parts of the belly.” Solomon continued with the words, “searching all” or “thinking through, exposing and diligently seeking each, every, the whole and everyone of” “the inward parts” which means “the chambers, parlor or innermost portions” “of the belly” or “belonging to the seat of hunger or mental faculties”. Solomon said Jehovah God employs the lighted soul of a person to seek every portion of the innermost chambers of a person's mental faculties.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how God sees the innermost parts of us, and nothing is hidden from Him. He knows our spirit, and He is aware of every hidden motive within us. He knows we have sin (errors, mistakes, wrongs and missing of the marks), and “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life”(See Romans 6:23). This is why “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life” (See John 3:16). When we put our faith and trust in Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us the value of allowing Him to “search” us within and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (See Psalm 139:23; 1 John 1:9)
Next time Solomon says, “mercy and truth preserve the king”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
