God's Face Hidden and They are Troubled - Psalms 104:29

In Psalms one hundred four the Psalmist said of the seas God created, “There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom you have made to play therein. These wait all upon you; that you may give them their meat in due season. That you give them they gather: you open your hand, they are filled with good”, and in chapter one hundred four and verse twenty-nine of Psalms the Psalmist said, “you hide your face, they are troubled” where we read,

You hide your face, they are troubled:

you take away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

The verse begins, You hide your face, they are troubled: The Psalmist began with the words, “you hide your face” or “you, Jehovah God, conceal and carefully keep secret your, Jehovah God's, countenance, front and presence”, “they are troubled” which means “they, the large aquatic animals, exist as disturbed, alarmed, terrified, anxious and afraid”. The Psalmist said the large aquatic animals are disturbed and anxious whenever Jehovah God conceals His countenance and presence.

The verse goes on to say,you take away their breath, they die, and return to their dust. The Psalmist continued with the words, “you take away their breath” or “you, Jehovah God, remove, collect and withdraw their, the aquatic animals', wind, mind, spirit and wind”, “they die” which means “they, the large aquatic animals, expire, give up the ghost and perish”, “and return to their dust” or “and turn and bring back to their, the large aquatic animals', dry earth, powder, ashes and ground rubbish”. The Psalmist referred to the way Jehovah God removes the life giving “breath” from the large aquatic animals, and they give up the ghost and are turned back to the powder of the earth.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist mentioned when Jehovah God conceals His countenance, the large aquatic animals become alarmed and terrified. When He removes their “breath”, they perish and their bodies go back to the ground power from which they were made. God has His plan for the lifespan of all His living beings, and He knows that human beings will have their appointed time to die. Our bodies will return to dust one day, however, our spirits will continue to live forever. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to live with Him in Heaven even after we have taken our last breath on earth and our bodies return to the dust.

Next time the Psalmist says, “you send for your spirit, they are created”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
