In Psalms one hundred six the Psalmist said concerning the people of Israel that Jehovah God, “rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness. And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left”, and in chapter one hundred six and verse twelve of Psalms the Psalmist said, “then believed they his words” where we read,
Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.
The verse begins, “Then believed they his words;” The Psalmist began with the words, “then believed they” or “at that time, therefore, wherefore and these things being so the people of Israel trusted in, relied upon and clung to” “his words” which means “his, Jehovah God's, utterances, declarations and proclamations”. The Psalmist said the people of Israel trusted in Jehovah God's utterances after the Egyptians were destroyed in the Red sea.
The verse goes on to say, “they sang his praise.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “they sang” or “they, the people of Israel, used their voices to make music and sing” “his praise” which means “his, Jehovah God's, hymns of adoration, thanksgiving, fame, glory and renown”. The Psalmist said the people of Israel used their voices to make music of adoration and thanksgiving to Jehovah God. (See Exodus 14:31-15:1-21)
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist referred to the way the people of Israel trusted Jehovah God's declaration after the Egyptians were destroyed. The people of Israel began to sing songs of adoration and thanksgiving to Jehovah God, and they knew God had taken care of them. God loves Israel, and He loves us. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and cause us to rejoice in songs of praise and worship unto Him.
Next time Psalmist says the people of Israel, “soon forgot his works”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
