In Psalms one hundred four the Psalmist said, “The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God”, and in chapter one hundred four and verse twenty-two of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the sun arises, they gather themselves together” where we read,
The sun arises, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.
The verse begins, “The sun arises, they gather themselves together, ...” The Psalmist began with the words, “the sun arises” or “the sun in the sky breaks out, rises up and comes forth”, “they gather themselves together” which means “they, the youthful lions, assemble and collect themselves with one another”. The Psalmist referred to the way the “lions” assemble at sunrise.
The verse continues, “... and lay them down in their dens.” The Psalmist added the words, “and lay them down” or “and stretch them, the lions, out and toward the ground” “in their dens” which means “within their, the lions', dwelling places, habitations and places of refuge”. The Psalmist recalled how the “youthful lions” stretch themselves out within their dwelling places and places of refuge.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist referred to the activity of the “lions” within the daytime. God created them in such a manner that when the sun rises, they collect themselves with one another and stretch themselves out within their caves or dwelling places. This was designed by Jehovah God, and because He loves us, He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins so we could gather ourselves unto Him within His Heavenly abode. When we receive Jesus as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life in Heaven and allow us to discover His provision and instinct for the “lions” and people who surrender their lives to Him.
Next time the Psalmist shares how, “man goes forth unto his work”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
