In Psalms one hundred four the Psalmist said of Jehovah God, “He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knows his going down”, and in chapter one hundred four and verse twenty of Psalms the Psalmist said of Jehovah God, “you make darkness, and it is night” where we read,
You make darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.
The verse begins, “You make darkness, and it is night:” The Psalmist began with the words, “you make darkness” or “you, Jehovah God, set, station, appoint, fix and constitute obscurity, ignorance, and the secret place”, “and it is night” which means “and it, the darkness, exists as the night season or nighttime”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God formed and fashioned the obscure and secret place during the nighttime.
The verse continues, “wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.” The Psalmist added the words, “wherein all the beasts” or “which within the darkness each, every, the whole and everyone of the living, alive, flowing and fresh animals” “of the forest” which means “belonging to the woods, thicket and wooded height” “do creep forth” or “move lightly and glide about and walk on all fours”. The Psalmist said the alive and living animals move lightly and glide about within the nighttime hours.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist referred to the way Jehovah God has formed and fashioned the “obscure nighttime” hours when the living animals move lightly about on all fours. God decided this is the way it would be, and He knows best for the animal kingdom. He also knows what is best for us both physically and spiritually. Because we have sin in our lives, (violation to the law of God), and “the wages of sin is death” (See Romans 6:23), He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross and raise from the dead three days later. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and know His power and ability to form and fashion the “darkness” of the night is extended toward us for whatever we need.
Next time the Psalmist says, “the young lions roar after their prey”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
