In Psalms one hundred four the Psalmist said of the seas God created, “There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom you have made to play therein. These wait all upon you; that you may give them their meat in due season”, and in chapter one hundred four and verse twenty-eight of Psalms the Psalmist said, “that you give them they gather” where we read,
That you give them they gather: you open your hand, they are filled with good.
The verse begins, “That you give them they gather:” The Psalmist began with the words, “that you give them” or “the provision and food you, Jehovah God, grant, bestow and supply them, the aquatic animals” “they gather” which means “they, the aquatic animals, pick, glean and collect”. The Psalmist said the food that Jehovah God provided for the aquatic animals were gleaned and collected by them.
The verse continues, “you open your hand, they are filled with good.” The Psalmist added the words, “you open your hand” or “you, Jehovah God, let loose and free your, Jehovah God's, hand of power, might, strength and provision”, “they are filled” which means “they, the aquatic animals, exist as satisfied, sated and surfeited” “with good” or “by the use of things which are pleasant, agreeable, excellent and rich”. The Psalmist referred to the way Jehovah God let loose His hand of power, might and provision and the aquatic animals were sated and satisfied with pleasant and agreeable provisions.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist noted the way the aquatic animals take advantage of the provisions that Jehovah God has given to them. God lets loose His hand, and that which is provided satisfies them with pleasant and agreeable things. God takes care of His sea creatures, and He provides for mankind as well. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and help us to perceive His desire to open His hand and provide for us completely like He does with the large aquatic animals.
Next time the Psalmist says of Jehovah God, “you hide your face, they are troubled”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
