Water Turned into Blood - Psalms 105:29

In Psalms one hundred five the Psalmist said Jehovah God, “sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen. They showed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham. He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word”, and in chapter one hundred five and verse twenty-nine of Psalms the Psalmist shared how Jehovah God, “turned their waters into blood” where we read,

He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.

The verse begins, He turned their waters into blood, The Psalmist began with the words, “he turned their waters” or “He, Jehovah God, changed and transformed the waters of Egypt” “into blood” which means “into flowing bloodshed”. (See Exodus 7:20-21) The Psalmist referred to when Jehovah God changed the “waters” within the land of Egypt into “blood”.

The verse continues,... and slew their fish. The Psalmist added the words, “and slew” or “and put to death or killed” “their fish” which means “their, the people of Egypt's, fishes in the waters”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God killed the “fish” within the “waters” of Egypt when He turned them into “blood”.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist mentioned the plague set against the people of “Egypt” when God turned their “waters into blood”. This action not only killed their “fish”, but the Egyptian magicians were foolish enough to duplicate it which further complicated the matter. God's desire was for His people Israel to be set free from their bondage in Egypt, and the same is true for us today in the matter of sin. God will set us free from sin when we yield our lives to His Son Jesus who came into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we surrender our lives to Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and keep us protected from the eternal consequences that sin can bring into our lives.

Next time the Psalmist shares how, “their land brought forth frogs in abundance”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
