Moses Sent - Psalms 105:26

In Psalms one hundred five the Psalmist said, “Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham, and he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies. He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtly with his servants”, and in chapter one hundred five and verse twenty-six of Psalms the Psalmist shared how Jehovah God, “sent Moses his servant” where we read,

He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.

The verse begins, He sent Moses his servant; The Psalmist began with the words, “he sent Moses” or “He, Jehovah God, assigned and dispatched Moses whose name means drawing out and was the prophet and lawgiver and the leader of the exodus” “his servant” which means “his, Jehovah God's, man of servile condition, bondman and worshiper”. The Psalmist shared how Jehovah God dispatched “Moses” who was His worshiper and bondman.

The verse goes on to say,and Aaron whom he had chosen. The Psalmist continued with the words, “and Aaron” or “and Aaron whose name means light bringer and was brother of Moses and a Levite and the first high priest” “whom he had chosen” which means “that he, Jehovah God, elected or selected”. The Psalmist also included “Aaron” who was Moses' brother and became the first high priest as a member of the tribe of Levi.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist continued his recounting of the history of Israel by recalling the way Jehovah God selected “Moses” to be their deliverer from the nation and slavery of “Egypt”. (See Exodus 3:10, 4:12-14) God allowed “Moses'” brother “Aaron” to assist him, and they together were to go into “Egypt” to confront Pharaoh and tell him to let the people of “Israel” go. God had a plan of rescue for the people of Israel, and He has a plan for us as well. Sin keeps all people in bondage, and in order to be set free from it's captivity, God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we surrender our lives to Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and select us for positions according to His Divine will and purpose.

Next time the Psalmist shares how Moses and Aaron, “showed his signs among them”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
