From One Nation to Another - Psalms 105:13

In Psalms one hundred five the Psalmist said Jehovah God told Jacob or Israel, “Unto you will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance. When they were but a few men in number; yes, very few, and strangers in it”, and in chapter one hundred five and verse thirteen of Psalms the Psalmist shared how this happened, “when they went from one nation to another” where we read,

When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;

The verse begins, When they went from one nation to another, ... The Psalmist began with the words, “when they went” or “at the time and moment they, the people of Israel, departed and left” “from one nation” which means “separate and apart from one particular people group” “to another” or “to another people group”. The Psalmist referred to how the people of Israel departed from one people group to another.

The verse continues,... from one kingdom to another people; The Psalmist added the words, “from one kingdom” or “separate and apart from one royal dominion, sovereignty and reign” “to another people” which means “to another kindred, compatriots and country-men”. The Psalmist said the people of Israel also went from one royal dominion to another.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist referred to the way the people of Israel traveled from one people group to another, and they went from one royal dominion to another as well as they took possession of the “land of Canaan”. God oversaw the people of Israel in their travels, and though they seemed nomadic, He had a plan for their lives. God knew them, and He knows us. He knows we need a “Savior” to rescue us from our sins, and when He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross, He paid the price for the errors and wrongs of everyone. When we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and oversee us as we walk from place to place and people group to people group before Him.

Next time the Psalmist shares how Jehovah God, “suffered no man to do them wrong”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
