In Psalms one hundred four the Psalmist said of the deep waters of the earth that Jehovah God, “set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth. They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst”, and in chapter one hundred four and verse twelve of Psalms the Psalmist said of the waters of the earth, “by them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation” where we read,
By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.
The verse begins, “By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, ...” The Psalmist began with the words, “by them” or “through the means of the waters of the earth” “the fowls of the heaven” which means “the flying fowls and birds belonging to the skies and atmosphere” “have their habitation” or “own and possess their, the fowls, dwelling places, abodes and residence”. The Psalmist said the birds of the skies make their dwelling in the foliage that is grown by the waters God controls.
The verse continues, “...which sing among the branches.” The Psalmist added the words, “which sing” or “that make music and noise with their voices” “among the branches” which means “in the midst and company of the bough, foliage and limbs of the trees”. The Psalmist referred to how the birds make music and noise with their voices as they dwell in the middle of the tree limbs.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see the Psalmist refer to the birds of the skies who occupy the trees which are watered by God. The birds “sing” while they stand upon the tree limbs, and they make their dwelling there. The birds are known and cared for by Jehovah God (See Luke 12:6), and He cares for us as well. He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins, and when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and make us be aware of His care for us even as He provides for the birds that sing in the branches and make their dwelling among the limbs.
Next time the Psalmist says of Jehovah God, “He waters the hills from his chambers”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
