Seek the LORD and His Strength - Psalms 105:4

In Psalms one hundred five the Psalmist said, “O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk you of all his wondrous works. Glory you in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD”, and in chapter one hundred five and verse four of Psalms the Psalmist said, “Seek the LORD, and his strength” where we read,

Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

The verse begins, Seek the LORD, and his strength: The Psalmist began with the words, “Seek the LORD” or “resort to, inquire of, consult and frequent Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God in prayer and worship”, “and his strength” which means “and his, Jehovah God's power, might and ability”. The Psalmist exhorted his readers and listeners to inquire of and resort to Jehovah God and His power, might and ability.

The verse goes on to say, seek his face evermore. The Psalmist continues with the words, “seek his face” or “resort to, inquire of, consult and frequent his, Jehovah God's, front, presence and countenance” “evermore” which means “continually, perpetually and constantly”. The Psalmist exhorted his readers and listeners to resort to and inquire of Jehovah God's countenance perpetually and continually.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist instructed his readers and listeners to search for Jehovah God and His power and might, and they were to look for His countenance and presence perpetually. God wants us to “seek” Him, and Jesus Himself said, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:” (See Matthew 7:7). God desires to have a personal relationship with everyone, and He sent His Son Jesus to be crucified on the cross for our sins. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to be among those who search for Jehovah God, His power, ability and countenance continually.

Next time the Psalmist says, “remember his marvelous works”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
