In Psalms one hundred five the Psalmist said, “Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham”, and in chapter one hundred five and verse twenty-four of Psalms the Psalmist shared how Jehovah God, “increased his people greatly” where we read,
And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.
The verse begins, “And he increased his people greatly;” The Psalmist began with the words, “and he increased” or “and he, Jehovah God, grew and brought forth” “his people greatly” which means “his, Jehovah God's, nation and group of human beings both male and female diligently, exceedingly and mightily”. The Psalmist shared how Jehovah God grew the number of the people within the nation of Israel by an abundant amount.
The verse goes on to say, “and made them stronger than their enemies.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “and made them stronger” or “and caused them, Jehovah God's people, to be greater, more powerful and more numerous” “than their enemies” which means “in comparison to their, Jehovah God's, hating foes and adversaries”. The Psalmist shared how Jehovah God caused the people of Israel to be more powerful, mighty and stronger in number than their hating foes and adversaries.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see learn the Psalmist referred to the way Jehovah God caused the people of Israel not only to grow in number, but also to be more numerous, powerful and mighty than their hating foes. In other words, they became more in number and power than the people of Egypt. This had it's repercussions which we shall discover, but for now let us realize Jehovah God was for His people Israel. God loves Israel, and from the time He made His promise and covenant with Abraham, Israel has been blessed by Him. His Son Jesus Christ came through the lineage of Abraham, and He is the “Savior and Lord” of the world. He came to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and provide and protect us even as He has the nation of Israel from the time of Abraham.
Next time the Psalmist shares how, “he turned their heart to hate his people”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
