Raining Hail and Flaming Fire - Psalms 105:32

In Psalms one hundred five the Psalmist said Jehovah God, “sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen. They showed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham. He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word. He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish. Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings. He spoke, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts”, and in chapter one hundred five and verse thirty-two of Psalms the Psalmist shared how Jehovah God, “gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire” where we read,

He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.

The verse begins, He gave them hail for rain, ... The Psalmist began with the words, “He gave them” or “He, Jehovah God, bestowed, granted, ascribed and delivered up to them, the people of Egypt” “hail for rain” which means “ hailstones for rain showers”. The Psalmist shared how Jehovah God sent “hailstones” as a plague upon the people of Egypt. (See Exodus 9:18-23)

The verse goes on to say,... and flaming fire in their land. The Psalmist continued with the words, “and flaming fire” or “and spearlike flaming fiery fire” “in their land” which means “within their, Egypt's, territory, region and country”. The Psalmist referred to how Jehovah God sent flames of fire mixed within the hailstones upon the people of Egypt. (See Exodus 9:23-24)

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist referred to the plague of hailstones mingled with fire that was sent by Jehovah God upon the people of Egypt. Plague after plague came upon them because Pharaoh refused to allow the people of Israel to go. In other words, he did not obey God. God's desire is to have a personal relationship with every person through obedience and belief in His Son Jesus who was crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and protect us from the eternal troubles and plagues that shall come upon the people who are like Pharaoh” and refuse Him.

Next time the Psalmist shares how Jehovah God, “smote their vines also and their fig trees”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
