In Psalms one hundred four the Psalmist said, “The sun arises, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens. Man goes forth unto his work and to his labor until the evening”, and in chapter one hundred four and verse twenty-four of Psalms the Psalmist said, “O LORD, how manifold are your works!” where we read,
O LORD, how manifold are your works! in wisdom have you made them all:
the earth is full of your riches.
The verse begins, “O LORD, how manifold are your works! in wisdom have you made them all:” The Psalmist began with the words, “O LORD” or “O Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”, “how manifold are your works” which means “how numerous, abundant and abounding exist your, Jehovah God's, acts, deeds, undertakings, pursuits and achievements”! “in wisdom” or “by the use of skill, shrewdness and good sense” “have you made them all” which means “have you, Jehovah God, formed, fashioned and created each, every, the whole and everyone of His manifold works”. The Psalmist breaks out in praise as he considered the numerous and abundant number of deeds and undertakings of Jehovah God because He fashioned and formed every one of them.
The verse continues, “the earth is full of your riches.” The Psalmist added the words, “the earth is full” or “the land, ground, territory, region, country and world exists as complete, satisfied, accomplished and ended” “of your riches” which means “by the means of your, Jehovah God's, acquisitions, possessions and purchased property”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God's possessions and properties are all over the world.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist mentioned the abundant and numerous acts and deeds of Jehovah God, and by His skill, shrewdness and good sense God created all of them. God's “world” is filled with His wonders, and He allows us to enjoy them. He desires a personal intimate relationship with every person through His Son Jesus whom He sent into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to perceive and enjoy His wonderful riches which are spread throughout the world.
Next time the Psalmist says, “so is this great and wide sea”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
