Glory in God's Holy Name - Psalms 105:3

In Psalms one hundred five the Psalmist said, “O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk you of all his wondrous works”, and in chapter one hundred five and verse three of Psalms the Psalmist said, “Glory you in his holy name” where we read,

Glory you in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.

The verse begins, Glory you in his holy name: The Psalmist began with the words, “glory you” or “people who are listening and reading the Psalmist's words, praise, boast and celebrate” “in his holy name” which means “within his, Jehovah God's, sacred, set apart and consecrated fame, reputation and glory”. The Psalmist exhorted his readers and listeners to boast and celebrate Jehovah God's sacred and set apart reputation, fame and glory.

The verse continues, let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. The Psalmist added the words, “let the heart of them” or “allow and permit the soul, mind, will, desires, living being and seat of emotions and passions” “rejoice” which means “be glad, cheerful and gleeful” “that seek the LORD” or “who search for, look, desire and exact of Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name of the One True God”. The Psalmist encouraged the souls and wills of the people who searched for Jehovah God to be cheerful and glad.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist continued to instruct those reading and listening to his words to celebrate Jehovah God's set apart and sacred fame, reputation and glory, and they were to permit their souls to be glad because they sought after Him. God wants us to give Him praise and glory, and when our souls and minds look for Him, He will bless us with cheerful and glad “hearts”. God loves us, and He proved it by sending His Son Jesus into the world to die in our place on the cross to pay the penalty of death for our sins. When we believe and trust in Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and make our souls cheerful and glad as we honor Him for who He is and what He has done.

Next time the Psalmist says, “Seek the LORD, and his strength”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
