Wealth and Riches in the House - Psalms 112:3

In Psalms one hundred twelve the Psalmist said, “Praise you the LORD. Blessed is the man that fears the LORD, that delights greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed”, and in chapter one hundred twelve and verse three of Psalms the Psalmist said, “Wealth and riches shall be in his house” where we read,

Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endures for ever.

The verse begins, Wealth and riches shall be in his house:” The Psalmist began with the words, “wealth and riches” or “substance, high value, enough, sufficiency and money” “shall be in his house” which means “will exist within his, the person who reveres Jehovah God and delights greatly in his commandments, home, abode, dwelling place and habitation”. The Psalmist said sufficiency and money would exist within the home of the person who reverse Jehovah God and takes delight in His “commandments”.

The verse goes on to say, “and his righteousness endures for ever .” The Psalmist continued with the words, “and his righteousness” or “and his, the person who reveres Jehovah God and delights in His commandments, justice and what is morally correct and right” “endures for ever” which means “stands, remains, continues and persists for long duration, perpetually, continuously, eternally and everlasting”. The Psalmist said the moral rightness and correctness of the person who reveres Jehovah God and delights greatly in His commandments will remain eternally.

When we consider the Psalmist's words in this verse, we learn how the person who reveres Jehovah God, delights in His commandments and lives in an upright manner, will have “sufficiency and money” within their home. Their correct and right manner of living will remain eternally as they live with God. God loves people, and His desire is to have a personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus. He sent Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and provide for us both physically and spiritually as we continue to live in His presence.

A Mighty Seed - Psalms 112:2

In Psalms one hundred twelve the Psalmist said, “Praise you the LORD. Blessed is the man that fears the LORD, that delights greatly in his commandments”, and in chapter one hundred twelve and verse two of Psalms the Psalmist said, “His seed shall be mighty upon earth” where we read,

His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

The verse begins, His seed shall be mighty upon earth:” The Psalmist began with the words, “His seed” or “His, the person who fears the LORD and delights greatly in his commandments', children, posterity, descendants and progeny” “shall be mighty” which means “will exist as powerful, strong and filled with ability” “upon earth” or “on the land, country, territory, region and world”. The Psalmist said the descendants of the people who revere Jehovah God and take pleasure in His ordinances will exist as powerful and strong in the world.

The verse continues, “the generation of the upright shall be blessed.” The Psalmist added the words, “the generation” or “the period and age” “of the upright” which means “belonging to the straight, correct, level, pleasing, fitting and proper” “shall be blessed” or “will exist as adored, saluted and praised”. The Psalmist said the age of people who live in a correct and pleasing manner to Jehovah God will be praised and adored.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist expanded the number of people who will be “mighty” and “blessed” by Jehovah God. The descendants of the people who revere God and “delight greatly in his commandments” will also be “O so happy” as they live. God's desire is for everyone to have a personal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus whom He sent in to the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to become the “mighty and blessed” people in the world.

The Man Who Fears the LORD - Psalms 112:1

Psalms one hundred twelve begins with the words, “Praise you the LORD” , and in chapter one hundred twelve and verse one of Psalms the Psalmist said in full,

Praise you the LORD. Blessed is the man that fears the LORD,

that delights greatly in his commandments.

The verse begins, Praise you the LORD. Blessed is the man that fears the LORD, ...” The Psalmist began with the words, “Praise you the LORD” or “you, people reading and hearing the words of the Psalmist, adore, worship, give thanks and glory to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name of the One True God”. “Blessed is the man” which means “O how happy is the person whether male or female” “that fears the LORD” or “who reveres, honors, is in awe of and respects Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. The Psalmist called upon his readers and listeners to give homage and worship to Jehovah God, and he said the person who reveres and is in awe of God will exist as O how happy.

The verse goes on to say, “... that delights greatly in his commandments.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “that delights greatly” or “who takes exceeding, much and abundant pleasure and favor” “in his commandments” which means “within his, Jehovah God's, ordinances, codes, laws and precepts”. The Psalmist said people who take abundant pleasure within the ordinances and laws of Jehovah God are also O how happy.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist called upon his readers and listeners to adore and give homage to Jehovah God, and the people who revere Him and take abundant pleasure in His ordinances live as O how happy. God wants us to take pleasure in Him, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for our sins so we may be forgiven and live with Him forever. God's invitation to us is to revere Him, humble ourselves, takes pleasure in His ordinances and live an O how happy life before Him.

The Beginning of Wisdom - Psalms 111:10

In Psalms one hundred eleven the Psalmist shared how Jehovah God, “sent redemption unto his people: he has commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name”, and in chapter one hundred eleven and verse ten of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom” where we read,

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom:

a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endures for ever.

The verse begins, The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom:” The Psalmist began with the words, “the fear of the LORD” or “the terror, awe, respect, reverence and piety belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “is the beginning” which means “exists as the first, best, choice and principal order” “of wisdom” or “pertaining to skill, shrewdness, prudence and whit”. The Psalmist said revering Jehovah God is the choice and principal order of shrewdness and prudence.

The verse continues, “a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endures for ever.” The Psalmist added the words, “a good understanding” or “a pleasant, agreeable, excellent and valuable insight, good sense, cunning and craft” “have all they” which means “possess and own each, every, the whole and everyone of the people” “that do his commandments” or “who perform, produce, fashion and accomplish his, Jehovah God's, ordinances, laws, rules and constitution”: “his praise” which means “his, Jehovah God's, adoration, thanksgiving and laudation” “endures for ever” or “lasts, remains and stays for long duration, perpetually, everlasting and unto perpetuity”. The Psalmist said people who perform Jehovah God's ordinances and laws have insight and good sense toward Him because His adoration and laudation remains eternally.

When we consider the Psalmist's words in this verse, we learn how the principal order for being wise is to revere Jehovah God. When we obey His laws, we gain insight into His way of living, and we will give Him praise eternally for it. God loves us, and His desire is to have a personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and keep us in line with His commands as He provides an opportunity to give Him “praise” forever and ever.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see the Psalmist say, “Blessed is the man that fears the LORD”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Redemption - Psalms 111:9

In Psalms one hundred eleven the Psalmist speaking of Jehovah God said, “The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness”, and in chapter one hundred eleven and verse nine of Psalms the Psalmist shared how Jehovah God, “sent redemption unto his people” where we read,

He sent redemption unto his people: he has commanded his covenant for ever:

holy and reverend is his name.

The verse begins, He sent redemption unto his people: he has commanded his covenant for ever:” The Psalmist began with the words, “he sent redemption” or “he, Jehovah God, dispatched and assigned ransom, distinction and deliverance” “unto his people” which means “toward his, Jehovah God's, human beings both male and female”: “he has commanded” or “he, Jehovah God, has charged, given orders and appointed” “his covenant” which means “his, Jehovah God's, alliance, treaty, pledge, league, constitution and ordinance” “for ever” or “for long duration, unto perpetuity, futurity, everlasting and evermore”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God dispatched His ransom and deliverance toward His people, and He ordered His alliance and pledge to exist unto perpetuity.

The verse goes on to say, “holy and reverend is his name.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “holy and reverend” or “set apart and ceremonially or morally sacred and awed, respected and revered” “is his name” which means “exists his, Jehovah God's, fame, reputation and glory”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God's fame, reputation and glory is set apart, sacred and to be respected and awed.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist referred to the deliverance Jehovah God dispatched to His “people”, and He recalled that God ordered His alliance and pledge unto perpetuity. The Psalmist said God's reputation and glory were sacred and to be revered, and we are wise when we align with the Psalmist's words. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to be a part of His “redemption, covenant and sacred name”.

God's Works Stand Fast Forever - Psalms 111:8

In Psalms one hundred eleven the Psalmist speaking of Jehovah God said, “The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure”, and in chapter one hundred eleven and verse eight of Psalms the Psalmist said the works of Jehovah God, “stand fast for ever and ever” where we read,

They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.

The verse begins, They stand fast for ever and ever, ...” The Psalmist began with the words, “they stand fast” or “they, the works and commandments of Jehovah God support, uphold, sustain and revive” “for ever and ever” which means “for long duration, unto futurity, perpetually, everlasting and always”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God's works and commandments shall be supported and upheld perpetually.

The verse continues, “... and are done in truth and uprightness.” The Psalmist added the words, “and are done in truth” or “and exist as fashioned, accomplished and produced within firmness, faithfulness, sureness, reliability, stability and continuance” “and uprightness” which means “and correctness and that which is pleasing, fitting, proper and righteous”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God's works and commandments are performed and produced in sureness, reliability, continuance and in a proper manner.

When we think through the Psalmist's words in this verse, we see how the acts, deeds and commandments of Jehovah God are everlasting, and they are produced in faithfulness, sureness and in a righteous manner. God is love, and His sent His Son Jesus into the world to demonstrate Himself as “the way, the truth and the life”. (See John 14:6) He died on the cross for our sins, and when we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to enjoy His commandments and works for all eternity. Let us give praise, honor and glory to Jehovah God and His Son Jesus for their provision for mankind that is “done in truth and uprightness” and shall last forever.
