In Psalms one hundred nine David said, “I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yes, I will praise him among the multitude”, and in chapter one hundred nine and verse thirty-one of Psalms David said Jehovah God, “shall stand at the right hand of the poor” where we read,
For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.
The verse begins, “For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, ...” David began with the words, “for he shall stand” or “because, since and on account that he, Jehovah God, will remain, endure and present Himself” “at the right hand” which means “at the right hand of authority, power, might and ability” “of the poor” or “belonging to the wanting, needy and subject to oppression and abuse”. David said the reason he would “greatly praise” Jehovah God was because He would remain and present Himself at the might and ability of people who are subject to oppression and abuse.
The verse goes on to say, “to save him from those that condemn his soul.” David continued with the words, “to save him” or “to rescue, deliver and liberate him, the poor person” “from those that condemn his soul” which means “judge, govern, vindicate and punish separate and apart from the people who his, the poor person's, heart, mind, will, desires, living being and seat of emotions and passions”. David said Jehovah God would rescue the “poor” person from people who vindictively judge and govern over their hearts, minds and wills.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David declared that Jehovah God would come to the defense of people who have been oppressed and abused, and He would rescue them from people who vindictively judge them. God is a God of love, and He is also a God of justice. God wants to extend His mercy and grace to us, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for our sins. When we submit ourselves to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and save and rescue us from those who would oppress and “condemn” our hearts, minds and wills.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, “The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit at my right hand”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
