In Psalms one hundred thirteen the Psalmist said, “The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens”, and in chapter one hundred thirteen and verse five of Psalms the Psalmist said, “who is like unto the LORD our God?” where we read,
Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwells on high,
The verse begins, “Who is like unto the LORD our God, ...” The Psalmist said, “who is like” which means “what person is similar and in likeness” “unto the LORD” or “to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “our God” which means “our, the Psalmist and his people's, Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”. The Psalmist asked what person could be compared to Jehovah God who was his and his people's Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God.
The verse continues, “... who dwells on high.” The Psalmist added the words, “who dwells” which means “who, Jehovah God, remains, sits, abides, inhabits and stays” “on high” or “in the lofty, upward and exalted place”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God abides in the lofty and exalted place.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist questioned what person could be compared to Jehovah God. God is the “Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, and no one is like unto Him. This same God loves people, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we put our faith and trust in Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and help us to recognize His greatness beyond compare to anyone else in the world.
Next time the Psalmist says of Jehovah God, “who humbles himself to behold the things that are in heaven”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
