In Psalms one hundred seven the Psalmist said Jehovah God, “pours contempt upon princes, and causes them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way. Yet sets he the poor on high from affliction, and makes him families like a flock. The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth”, and in chapter one hundred seven and verse forty-three of Psalms the Psalmist said, “whoso is wise, and will observe these things” where we read,
Whoso is wise, and will observe these things,
even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.
The verse begins, “Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, ...” The Psalmist began with the words, “whoso is wise” or “whatever person whether male or female exists as skillful, shrewd, crafty, cunning, wily, subtle, learned and prudent”, “and will observe these things” which means “and shall keep, guard, give heed to and charge of Jehovah God setting the poor on high, rejoicing and having all iniquity being stopped”. The Psalmist said people who are skillful and cunning shall give heed to Jehovah God's actions concerning righteousness and eliminating iniquity.
The verse goes on to say, “... even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “even they shall understand” or “indeed the people who are wise will discern, consider, perceive and know” “the lovingkindness” which means “the goodness, kindness and faithfulness” “of the LORD” or “belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. The Psalmist said the people who are wise will know the goodness, kindness and faithfulness of Jehovah God.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist referred to people who are cunning and skillful and thereby notice how Jehovah God attends to the poor and eliminates wickedness and evil. The Psalmist said these wise ones will know Jehovah God's goodness, kindness and faithfulness. God wants all people to be “wise” in Him through His Son Jesus Christ who came into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to know His goodness, kindness and faithfulness both now and forever.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, “O God, my heart is fixed;”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
