In Psalms one hundred fourteen the Psalmist shared about ,“when Israel went out of Egypt”, and in chapter one hundred fourteen and verse one of Psalms the Psalmist said completely,
When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
The verse begins, “When Israel went out of Egypt, ...” The Psalmist said, “When Israel” which means “at the time and moment Israel whose name means God prevails and is the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob” “went out of Egypt” or “departed from Egypt whose name means land of the Copts and was a country at the northeastern section of Africa, adjacent to Palestine, and through which the Nile flows”. The Psalmist referred to the time that the nation of “Israel” departed from the country of “Egypt”. (See Exodus 12 and 13)
The verse goes on to say, “... the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;” The Psalmist continued with the words, “the house of Jacob” which means “the dwelling place, habitation, shelter and abode belonging to Jacob whose name means heel-holder or supplanter and was the son of Isaac, grandson of Abraham, and father of the twelve patriarchs of the tribes of Israel” “from a people” or “separate and apart from human beings both male and female” “of strange language” which means “belonging to people who speak in a foreign tongue who talk unintelligibly”. The Psalmist referred to how the people who belonged to the nation of “Jacob” or “Israel” departed from those whose speech and talk was unintelligible.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist referred to the time that the people of “Israel” departed from the land of “Egypt”. Jehovah God was with them, and He rescued the people of “Israel” in their destitute state. God loves to save people, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Jesus Christ as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and cause us to be set free from our “Egypt” called sin to live eternally with Him.
Next time the Psalmist says, “Judah was his sanctuary”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
