The Power of God's Works - Psalms 111:6

In Psalms one hundred eleven the Psalmist said Jehovah God, “has made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion. He has given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant”, and in chapter one hundred eleven and verse six of Psalms the Psalmist said Jehovah God, “has showed his people the power of his works” where we read,

He has showed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.

The verse begins, He has showed his people the power of his works, ...” The Psalmist began with the words, “He has showed his people” or “He, Jehovah God, has been conspicuous to, declared, made known, announced, reported and expounded to his, Jehovah God's, human beings both male and female” “the power of his works” which means “the strength, might and ability pertaining to his, Jehovah God's, acts, deeds, undertakings and labors”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God declared and made known His mighty acts and deed to His “people”.

The verse continues, “... that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.” The Psalmist added the words, “that he may give them” or “so he, Jehovah God, might put, set, appoint, ascribe and permit them, the people of God” “the heritage” which means “the possession, property, inheritance and share” “of the heathen” or “belonging to the Gentiles, non-Hebrews and foreign nations”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God demonstrated His mighty acts and deeds so that He might bestow upon His people that which belonged to the foreign and pagan nations.

When we consider the words of the Psalmist in this verse, we notice not only that Jehovah God revealed and expounded His mighty acts and deeds before His people, but He did so in such a way that they He might bestow upon them the belongings of the pagan nations. God provides for His people, and He has given “salvation” to mankind through His Son Jesus who came into the world to be crucified for the sins of everyone. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and bring us into a personal intimate relationship with Him. Let us give praise, honor and glory to Jehovah God and His Son Jesus for their abundant provision for His people.

Next time the Psalmist speaking of Jehovah God said, “the works of his hands are verity and judgment”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
