Barren Women Keep House - Psalms 113:9

In Psalms one hundred thirteen the Psalmist said of Jehovah God, “He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the dunghill. That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people”, and in chapter one hundred thirteen and verse nine of Psalms the Psalmist said of Jehovah God, “he makes the barren women to keep house” where we read,

He makes the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children.

Praise you the LORD.

The verse begins, He makes the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. The Psalmist said, “He makes the barren women” which means “He, Jehovah God, sets, places and causes the sterile female human beings” “to keep house” or “to remain, abide, stay and inhabit shelter, dwelling places and abodes”, “and to be a joyful mother” which means “to exists as a merry, rejoicing and glad female progenitor” “of children” or “belonging to offspring, progeny and posterity”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God would cause the sterile women among the people to have children and care for their homes.

The verse continues, “Praise you the LORD.” The Psalmist added the words, “Praise you” which means “ glory, boast, adore and celebrate you, people reading and listening to the Psalmist's words” “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. The Psalmist exhorted everyone who is reading and listening to his words to give glory, honor and adoration to Jehovah God.

When we meditate upon the Psalmist's words in this verse, we learn how Jehovah God would cause women who could not have children to birth them which would make them exist as merry, rejoicing and happy attendants of their homes. God loves people, and He desires to bless them. He proved this by sending His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and bless our families and homes. This should cause everyone who reads and hears the Psalmist's words to obey his directive and give honor, adoration and glory to Jehovah God.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see the Psalmist share about, “when Israel went out of Egypt”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
