The Lord's Right Hand - Psalms 110:5

In Psalms one hundred ten David said, “The LORD has sworn, and will not repent, You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek”, and in chapter one hundred ten and verse five of Psalms David said, “the Lord at your right hand shall strike” where we read,

The Lord at your right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.

The verse begins, The Lord at your right hand shall strike ...” David began with the words, “the Lord” or “Adonai or reverent master” “at your right hand” which means “standing and in positioned at your, Jehovah God's, right hand of power, might, strength and ability” “shall strike” or “will smite, throughly shatter and wound severely”. David said the reverent master would be positioned at Jehovah God's right hand of strength and severely wound the following.

The verse continues, “... through kings in the day of his wrath.” David added the words, “through kings” or “through royal rulers and princes” “in the day” which means “within the age, period and time” “of his wrath” or “belonging to his, Jehovah God's, anger and ire which wrinkles the nose and nostrils”. David said Jehovah God would throughly shatter and wound royal rulers within the time of His ire and anger.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David declared that Jehovah God would act against royal rulers within the time of His ire and anger. Because God is a God of love and does not desire to bring judgment upon rulers, He offers salvation from the penalty of sin which is death when we believe and trust in His Son Jesus as our “Savior and Lord”. However, many royal rulers refuse to receive Him. Jesus was crucified on the cross to pay the price of death for the sins of all mankind, and now anyone may have an intimate relationship with Jehovah God when they surrender to Him. God loves us, and He will extend His grace to us, but He shall contend with those who are royal rulers and reject Him.

Next time David says Jehovah God, “shall judge among the heathen”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
