The Extortioner Catching - Psalms 109:11

In Psalms one hundred nine David said speaking of his enemies, “Let his days be few; and let another take his office. Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow. Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places”, and in chapter one hundred nine and verse eleven of Psalms David said, “let the extortioner catch all that he has” where we read,

Let the extortioner catch all that he has; and let the strangers spoil his labor.

The verse begins, Let the extortioner catch all that he has; David began with the words, “let the extortioner” or “allow and permit the lender, creditor and usurer” “catch all that he has” which means “knock, strike, bring down, take aim at and be thrust after each, every, the whole and everything that he, the enemy of David, owns and possesses”. David wanted Jehovah God to cause the lender and creditor to take aim at everything his enemy owned.

The verse goes on to say, “and let the strangers spoil his labor.” David continued with the words, “and let the strangers” or “and allow and permit the foreigner and alien” “spoil his labor” which means “plunder, prey upon, seize and despoil his, the enemy of David's, toil, produce and work”. David appealed to Jehovah God to allow foreigners to plunder and despoil the work and toil of his enemy.

When we consider the words in this verse, we discover how David continued to give suggestions to Jehovah God for how to contend with his enemy. He wanted God to allow creditors or lenders to take aim at all his enemy's possessions, and he wanted foreign people to plunder all the work that he did. David wanted vengeance against his hating foe, and he knew God was best to bring it upon him. (See Isaiah 63:4 and Romans 12:19) God will avenge Himself against His enemies and ours, however, He desires to save every person who will surrender their lives to His Son Jesus who came into the world to be crucified for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and use “extortioners and strangers” to contend with our opposition according to His perfect plan and will.

Next time David says, “let there be none to extend mercy unto him”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
