In Psalms one hundred nine David said speaking of his enemies, “For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer. And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love. Set you a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand”, and in chapter one hundred nine and verse seven of Psalms David said, “when he shall be judged, let him be condemned” where we read,
When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.
The verse begins, “When he shall be judged, let him be condemned:” David began with the words, “when he shall be judged” or “at the time and moment he, the adversary of David, will be governed, decided over and enters in to controversy”, “let him be condemned” which means “allow and permit him, David's adversary, to exist as guilty, criminal and hostile to God”. David appealed to Jehovah God to allow his adversary to be guilty as a criminal at the time he is decided over in judgment.
The verse goes on to say, “and let his prayer become sin.” David continued with the words, “and let his prayer” or “and allow and permit his, David's adversary, intercession and supplication” “become sin” which means “happen, exist and come to pass as an offense”. David also wanted Jehovah God to allow the intercession of his adversary to exist as an offense to Him.
When we think through words in this verse, we see how David knew his adversary would be “judged” for his wicked behavior, and David wanted him to be adjudicated as “guilty” when that time came. He also wanted any intercession that his adversary made to exist like an offense unto God. David wanted Jehovah God to contend with his enemy, and we know that He certainly did. God will judge those who despise, reject and refuse His Son Jesus who came into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and protect us from the judgment that is certain to fall upon everyone who comes before God without His Son Jesus in their lives.
Next time David says, “let his days be few”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
