In Psalms one hundred eight David said, “I will praise you, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto you among the nations. For your mercy is great above the heavens: and your truth reaches unto the clouds”, and in chapter one hundred eight and verse five of Psalms David said, “be exalted, O God, above the heavens” where we read,
Be you exalted, O God, above the heavens: and your glory above all the earth;
The verse begins, “Be you exalted, O God, above the heavens:” David began with the words, “be you exalted” or “you, Jehovah God, exist as lifted up, raised up and set on high”, “O God” which means “O Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “above the heavens” or “beyond and over the visible sky, abode of the stars, the atmosphere and the visible universe”. David desired that Jehovah God, the Divine judge and ruler, be lifted up and raised on high beyond the sky and universe.
The verse continues, “and your glory above all the earth;” The Psalmist added the words, “and your glory” or “and your, Jehovah God's, honor, splendor, abundance, reverence and reputation” “above all the earth” which means “beyond and over the land, ground, territory, country, region and world”. David wanted Jehovah God's honor and splendor to be lifted up beyond the entire world.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David believed that Jehovah God should be lifted up above the sky and universe, and His honor and splendor should be raised beyond the scope of the entire world. God is the Creator of the universe and world, and no one compares to Him. He is to be worshiped and glorified among people, and we align with Him when we do. This same God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for our sins, and when we yield to Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and inspire us to follow David's words and “exalt” Him and His “glory” above the “heavens and earth”.
Next time David says, “that your beloved may be delivered”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
