In Psalms one hundred eleven the Psalmist said, “Praise you the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation”, and in chapter one hundred eleven and verse two of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the works of the LORD are great” where we read,
The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.
The verse begins, “The works of the LORD are great, ...” David began with the words, “The works” or “the acts, deeds and labors” “of the LORD” which means “belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “are great” or “exist as large, intense and important”. The Psalmist declared the acts and deeds of Jehovah God to be magnificent and important.
The verse continues, “... sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.” David added the words, “sought out of all them” or “resorted to, frequented by, consulted and inquired of each, every, the whole and everyone of the people whether male or female” “that have pleasure therein” which means “that enjoy delight, pleasure and willing purpose in Jehovah God's great works”. The Psalmist said the “works of the LORD” exist as important to people who resort to and frequent them with delight.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist exalted the acts and deeds of Jehovah God, and anyone who resorts to them with delight will find God Himself is amazing. God loves us, and He is wonderful. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to marvel in His wonderful “works” throughout eternity.
Next time the Psalmist says Jehovah God's, “work is honorable and glorious”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
