In Psalms one hundred eight David asked, “Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?”, and in chapter one hundred eight and verse eleven of Psalms David asked, “will not you, O God, who has cast us off?” where we read,
Will not you, O God, who have cast us off? and will not you, O God, go forth with our hosts?
The verse begins, “Will not you, O God, who have cast us off?” David began with the words, “will not you” or “shall not you, Jehovah God”, “O God” which means “O Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “who have cast us off” or “the One that has forcefully rejected, spurned and forsook us, David and the people of Israel”? David asked whether the Divine judge Jehovah God would help him and the people of Israel since He had forcefully rejected and spurned them.
The verse continues, “and will not you, O God, go forth with our hosts?” David added the words, “and will not you” or “and shall you, Jehovah God, in no way or manner”, “O God” which means “O Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “go forth with our hosts” or “come out, depart and proceed alongside our, David and the people of Israel's, organized angels or army”? David questioned whether the Divine judge Jehovah God would proceed and depart with him and the people of Israel's army.
When we mediate upon the words in this verse, we see how David desired to know whether Jehovah God abandoned him and his people and whether or not He would proceed and depart alongside their army. In other words, David knew He needed the presence of Almighty God. We all do, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and assure us of His presence both now and in the future.
Next time David says, “ give us help from trouble”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
