In Psalms one hundred thirteen the Psalmist said, “Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore”, and in chapter one hundred thirteen and verse three of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the LORD'S name is to be praised” where we read,
From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD'S name is to be praised.
The verse begins, “From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same ...” The Psalmist said, “from the rising” or “from the east, eastward direction or place of the sunrise” “of the sun” which means “pertaining to the sun in the sky” “unto the going down” or “until the descending or downward declination” “of the same” which means “pertaining to the sun in the sky or sunset” the following is to happen. The Psalmist declared from the sunrise to the sunset the following is to occur.
The verse goes on to say, “the LORD'S name is to be praised” The Psalmist continued with the words, “the LORD's name” which means “the fame, reputation and glory of Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name of the One True God” “is to be praised” or “should shine, flash forth light, be boasted about and commended”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God's fame reputation and glory is to be worshiped, adored and commended from the sunrise to the sunset of every day.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist continued to exhort his readers and listeners to give honor and praise to the “name” of Jehovah God. All day long and even through the night, God is worthy to be praised and adored. He not only gave us life, breath and the ability to live, He also gave His Son Jesus to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, we will be forgiven of our sins, granted everlasting life and allowed to be a part of the masses of people who give glory, honor and praise to Jehovah God all through the day.
Next time the Psalmist says, “the LORD is high above all ”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
