In Psalms one hundred ten David said, “The LORD shall send the rod of your strength out of Zion: rule you in the midst of your enemies. Your people shall be willing in the day of your power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: you have the dew of your youth”, and in chapter one hundred ten and verse four of Psalms David said, “the LORD has sworn, and will not repent” where we read,
The LORD has sworn, and will not repent, You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
The verse begins, “The LORD has sworn, and will not repent, ...” David began with the words, “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “has sworn” which means “adjured and took an oath”, “and will not repent” or “and shall in no way or manner be sorry, regret or be moved to pity and compassion”. David said Jehovah God has taken an oath, and He would in no way regret or be moved to pity and compassion.
The verse goes on to say, “... you are a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.” David continued with the words, “you are a priest for ever” or “you, David's Lord, exist as a principal officer or chief ruler for long duration, antiquity, futurity, evermore and perpetually” “after the order” which means “following and in keeping with the instruct, command, decree and charge ” “of Melchizedek” or “belonging to Melchizedek whose name means my king is Sedek and was the king of Salem and priest of the Most High God to whom Abram paid tithe”. David said his Lord, which was Jesus, was a spiritual leader and chief ruler belonging to the charge of “Melchizedek” who met with Abram.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David said Jehovah God made an oath without any regret that His Son Jesus would be a “priest” who was in the charge and in the line of “Melchizedek” who met with Abram after the battle where he fought to free Lot. (See Genesis 14:18) Jesus was sent to the earth by His Father God, and He died on the cross for the sins of the world. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and help us to align with Him as our King of Kings and Lord of Lords”.
Next time David says, “the Lord at your right hand shall strike”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
